Great tune. When we were young teenagers we used to go to 'dances' at one of the local church halls .
There was a bunch of lads, from St Cuthbert's (Sting/Neil Tennant to name a couple of other expupils) had a band called 'Decadence'. They used to play this - they were really good and I think a couple of them went on to musical lives.
Kev Healy is a guitarist though his younger brother was more well known - Brendan Healy.

Odd thing, ain't it... you meet people one at a time, they seem decent, they got brains that work, and then they get together and you hear the voice of the people. And it snarls.
