Dolly, Harry and Eric. Can't stand those 3 shouting, screechy, wailing tarts.
Except Harry is not the original.

And all the better for it if you ask me....
Odd thing, ain't it... you meet people one at a time, they seem decent, they got brains that work, and then they get together and you hear the voice of the people. And it snarls.

Everyday's a school day on here.
Badfinger's story is a very tragic sad one, google them. A band seemingly destined for greatness.

Badfinger were fab.

I only like Harry's version out of those though.

Whitney's version is astounding. I'm so glad Dolly didn't let Elvis have it.

There is no better song than Nilsson's Without You in my humble opinion. I've loved it forever.

Bit meh about the third one.

They were the first act to sign for The Beatles' Apple record label.
At the time they were called The Iveys. Badfinger name comes from the work in progress title of "With A Little Help From My Friends" which was Badfinger Blues. Someone at Apple thought it was a better name, I can see what they meant....

I'm no great fan of Katherine Jenkins, but her version, in Italian, of I Will Always Love You, is the best. none of that awful Whitney warbling.

Badfinger's comparatively understated original Without You is my preference there. Mariah Carey's slaughter of it still gives me nightmares.

I can never see Piggy's links but presume the third one is All By Myself, and anything is better than Celine Dion's histrionics. Interestingly, in the 21 years between Eric Carmen's original and Celine's cover version, it was recorded by, amongst others, Vince Hill, Brotherhood of Man, Hank Williams Jr, Sheryl Crow, Rosemary Clooney, Michael Ball and Shirley Bassey.
