Remember the OUTRAGE!!1!! when some wine bottlers eschewed the cork for screw tops? OMG, or should I say, Oh mon Dieu! The French and wine connoisseurs around the world had a fit of the vapours at the very thought. As we had visitors over the weekend I bought some wine and noticed a strange shaped bottle in Tesco wine department. The label was familiar but its flattened shape looked more like it should contain shampoo or cleaning fluid.
I picked up the bottle and felt a great disturbance in the ether, as if millions of wine buffs suddenly cried out in terror... the bottle was not made of glass but green plastic! 100% recycled plastic, no less. I wasn't scared of screw tops and I certainly wasn't going to be panicked by plastic so I bought one and its glass bottled equivalent that was sitting handily alongside.
I had a taste test later and you'll be astonished to hear they both tasted exactly the same.
Sell it cheaper then it might catch on.

I was outraged at first, but it would certainly solve my storage of empties problem

Yes, I used to get embarrassed carrying a clinking glass recycling crate down the drive.

Mind you, everybody in my courtyard is an alcoholic, so I fit in.

I remember plastic wine bottles from years ago!
I know a man who taught his dog to play the trumpet on the London Underground.
He went from Barking to Tooting in an hour.

Hmm. I suppose as you can buy it in bags it should work.
What you do to avoid the clinking is make your own wine. I think our bin men now think Nobby and I are off the booze!
