It would have been Johnnie's 80th birthday last Sunday. R2 did a tribute to him which was nice.
Boom radio had Tiggy doing a tribute programme for him, which is available on 'listen again' until the weekend. Worth a listen.

My love of music/guitars/piano was nutured by that shop.

When buying expensive items, I try to get them from John Lewis. Their after sales service is always good.

Enjoy the Bass though. You wouldn't get that from JL.

We've had a chilled out day, pleasant walk along the beach before Daragggggh arrives and then OH cooked a meal. We didn't go out as eveywhere is in full Christmas swing, so it can be a bit raucous....

We bought the airfryer that is also a slow cooker and a pressure cooker. It gets used constantly, the pressure cooker is great for making soups, stews and we have cooked chickens in it, the advantage being you can crisp the skin up at the end.

Zoe Ball is leaving after 6 years.

Her replacement is Scott Mills.

So which TV personality/ comedian will get the afternoon slot?

Bob is 78, just a year younger than Johnnie. He has had a few health issues of his own but will do a fab job.

Shaun Keaveney, ex 6 music, is taking over the Rock show.

I've been lucky enough to talk to Johnnie on one of his shows and meet him in person. He is a lovely man.

Really sad to hear Johnnie saying he's going to finish his 58 year career at the end of the month.

I'll miss him.
