She's 'aving a giraffe, Shirley?

I bought a piece of gammon that I was going to roast for us dinner tonight. Foxie had a different idea and said slow cook it in - and you won't believe this - coca-feckin'-cola!

I did point out the effect of dipping an old, brown penny in coke and how it strips it back to shiny copper but I was told to just get on with it. I did get on with it (as per) and TBH there's some nice smells coming from the kitchen.

I shall report back.

BTW what effect does turmeric have on our insides? We had a curry the other night and it stained the dish cloths yellow. Three times I have put them through the wash (I kept adding them to different loads) and they're still stained. Brobat is calling.

Tasty. Could have done with a vodka to go in with the coca cola I reckoned. Had a hard stare from Foxie.

No Gammon here in Oz.
You can probably buy uncooked ham but they don't call it Gammon.

And you're still alive to tell the tale......
Odd thing, ain't it... you meet people one at a time, they seem decent, they got brains that work, and then they get together and you hear the voice of the people. And it snarls.

Funny thing though, all the coca-cola colouring had gone, there was only a clear liquid left. I would normally have made a gravy from a slow cooked gammon joint but I chucked it.
