What song do you absolutely hate?

My choice would have to be "What'll I Do" - that awful song which was used as the theme for the equally awful Birds Of A Feather. I hated it back then and oh boy, did my loathing return when it was used in an episode of Ridley I watched on catch up yesterday. Talking of Ridley, has Ted Hastings got an album coming out at Christmas or something? At some point in every episode he has to have a little sing. He can't be as bad as Alexander Armstrong though surely?
I know a man who taught his dog to play the trumpet on the London Underground.
He went from Barking to Tooting in an hour.

Where to start.....
In a typical 'you're just old' state, anything in the (c)rap genre makes me turn off the radio.
I would argue they're not songs, just poetry spoken in a droning voice over music in the background.
Oh, and The Hustle. Really hate that.

When O J Borg was covering on radio two the other week he kept playing rave music, I never got rave music.
Absolutely hate Sophie Ellis Bexter when she warbles.

No, I'm not a rave fan either. Mary Ann Hobbs plays a lot during her show - cue switch off. I can understand people who are out clubbing listening to it - but during the day???
Not keen on any warbling type of female singing.

Re: What song do you absolutely hate?
To quote W S Gilbert, I've got a little list...
Over The Rainbow
Imagine
O Danny Boy (Londonderry Air)
You Raise Me Up
Wind Beneath My Wings
Without You
Love Me For A Reason
Release Me
Funeral dirges, the lot of them
One that isn't, but is still painful to the ear...
Smooth Criminal

I think they've decided that they want to alienate most of Steve Wright's listeners by turning that slot into Radio 2 Minus (or Radio 1 Plus). I looked at what Scott Mills played last week and didn't recognise most of it (as music).

Anything by Queen, Coldplay, that plagiarist bastard Ed Sheeran. There are others but I don't want to bore you all.
As for songs there nothing worse than "Where Do You Go To My Lovely" by Peter Sarstedt, complete load of drivel..

Odd thing, ain't it... you meet people one at a time, they seem decent, they got brains that work, and then they get together and you hear the voice of the people. And it snarls.

Come Dancing by the Kinks.
It enrages me for some reason.

The Eurthymics (including the solo work of Annie Lennox) - a pair of weirdos, if you ask me, which you probably did
Re: What song do you absolutely hate?
I quite like a lot of the above mentioned, but then I like slow songs with melody.
Xmas songs enrage me, but that might be from overexposure.
Except for The Waitresses. Weapon's grade shite.

I hate Rap too.
Wind beneath my Wings is absolutely dire, I have to switch the radio off if it comes on.
I adore Peter Sarstedt's Where do you go to, it's one of my all time favourite records.

Living On A Prayer or any Bon Jovi song, they all sound the same.
Mysterious Girl, the coddiest of cod Reggae.
Mull Of Kintyre, dreadful shite.

Phloppy squints through the smoke hanging over the card table, he shift his cigar from one side of his mouth to the other and growls, 'Mull Of Kintyre Gassy? Is that all you got? I raise you The Frog Chorus.'

(Lights blue touch paper...)
I don't mind The Frog Chorus. It is what it is, perfectly - a song for an animated film for children, and there have been far worse for those over the years.
At least it's not played to death, like Whiter Shade Of Pale or Fairytale of New York.
