Last few I promise

An interesting band from the Mercury prize listed acts

Black Midi's I think have something about them, a little Battles in sound but vocals.
black midi - ducter

and a new find
Starcrawler - Bet My Brains definitely a hint of Courtney Love in there

Finding time is tough right now but i'll try to get round to some of those.

How about some synth-glam-country?

Love this:

Sturgill Simpson - Sing Along (Official Video)

Not sure if I have mentioned before but I am a big fan of Anime, the other night while wading through Netflix I came across a 40 minute anime called Sturgill Simpson's Sound and Fury. Having never heard of him I had a watch, the Anime is for the most exceptional. The music hit and miss (almost like a 40 minute music video)
This and the opening track Ronin are not bad though.

The anime is worth a go, opening sequence is very special

I have been out on the road for the last few weeks in the daytime and have been making a point to listen to Lauren Laverne's breakfast show every day. Barely puts a foot wrong musically imo

Here's some of the recent played belters

Missy Elliott - Throw It Back Always great

Bombay Bicycle Club - Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)

Bonniesongs - Coo Coo

Kate Tempest - People's Faces (Streatham Version) Up there as one of my songs of the year this.

Tenesha The Wordsmith- Peackocks & Other Savage Beasts A bit odd this but enjoyable

YACHT — (Downtown) Dancing, reminds me of that early 80's NY synth wave post punk, like Delta 5, Liquid Liquid and Lizzy Mercier Deescloux. No bad thing

Oh Wonder - Hallelujah

The Comet Is Coming - Summon The Fire Nice and electronicy

The 1975 - People Noisy indie from pop band

Chrissie Hynde - How Glad I Am Like a slow northern soul song

HAIM - Summer Girl this is cracking pop

Four Tet - Teenage Birdsong lovely stuff, nice video too

Bdrmm - Shame Lilting indie pop

Joshua James - Journeys In Love (Joe Goddard Remix) Not keen on the original but half of Two Dogs or full time member of hot chip Joe Goddard has made it a much nicer house tune

L'Epée - Une lune étrange Not all French as the the name and title would suggest but members of Brian Jonestown Massacre and Liminanas's as well Emmanuelle Seigner (actress). Noisey and lovely it is too, very Spacemen 3/ JaMC

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds -Galleon Ship The Album that this is from (Ghosteen) is very dark electronic at times, a bit of a departure but good all the same. Not as immediate as other albums by them though

Passion Pit - "Sleepyhead" Really good

Steve Ain't LeRon - Veins a bit french disco, a bit rap, a bit good

Pom Poko - Leg Day Norwegian Punk named after a Studio Ghibli film, What's not to like

Dry Cleaning - Sit Down Meal

Not purchased any music for a long while. I've been existing on Cecile Mclorin Salvant and Gregory Porter with the odd bit of Rokia or Fatou thrown in for my down time for months now. Cecile's voice gives me so much joy...

But the album from which this is taken I want, so hints may be given to people as my birthday is not far away and isn't there some other sort of celebration in December?

Teri Lyne Carrington and Social Science - Bells (Ring Loudly)

He was recommended to me recently and I was hoping to have a listen but hadn't got around to it but my sister, who we were visiting up North this weekend, was playing the Love & Hate album on vinyl and I was very impressed. Need to listen to a lot more.

Closer to home, the new video from my mate Bambo (he's the writer/rapper) dropped a day or two ago. I posted another of his a little while ago but I think he's a real talent and I love this more romantic take on Afrobeat. It's got more musical and lyrical depth than first meets the ear and he's a really nice guy and charismatic enough to make an impact. I suspect the Gaspode girls will love it....

Bamboss (Ft. Kelz TBK) - Are You Down
