Big new song from The Chemical Brothers
Chemical Brothers - MAH

plus this from the wireless this morning, not brand new but because of the film it's from not showing yet, I suspect it will become a biggy of the year

Post Malone and Swae Lee - Sunflower

This would seem to be one of the biggies of the year, can't say I was that impressed the first time I heard it but it has grown on me
Nothing Breaks Like a Heart - Myley and Ronson

Ronson is good and, more importantly, commercial.

That song is very clever because it combines lots of elements of commercial dance but weirdly also has a strong country-pop feel that chimes with Miley's early identity.

Of course he made his reputation with Amy Winehouse and that made him hot property along with Uptown Funk which is is a proper modern pop classic.

Thanks for these and the others Undi.

The Chemical Brothers is good Chemical Brothers which is...good.

The Post Malone is no better than OK - can't hear anything original in there and it loses a star for the treated vocals.

Really like 'Beulah' and helped by having a family friend of the same name. Maybe could have done with a bit more imagination within the music though.

Really love the Lizzo - funny and danceable and old skoolish and smart video - very Max.

I noticed Dimitri from Paris has done a remix of it, I will have to listen to it when I get a minute.

I agree, it's the country sound that makes it more interesting. It's a grower. Currently play listed on R1 & R2, not many get that kind of exposure.

Winehouse's Back to Black is one of the best albums post 2000 imo, musically nothing new, in fact that was it's charm. Borrowing more from Stax than any modern music. All Ronson.

I am going to post this in here, on the soundtrack to "Old Man And The Gun" Redford's last film. Really worth a go (see film 2019) but the soundtrack has a nice jazzy sound.

Three Day Bank - Daniel Hart

Another odd track from Sacred Bones, space jazz I suppose
SPELLLING - Under the Sun

Joe Jackson has a new CD out - "Fool"
Cannot believe that it's 40 years since it was different for girls.
Some tracks sound just like that, but the lead track is more upbeat

Joe Jackson - Fabulously Absolute

Unloved ,that's not true.
And the Joe Jackson album sounds just right for an imminent birthday.

Thanks Undi, I like both of those a lot. Dunno about space jazz tho' - a bit too mainstream for that really.

last.fm: space jazz

A few new ones I've heard about

Foals - Exits

Bonobo - Ibrik

Unloved - Love

Max Cooper - Phi
Like all of those. I agree that Unloved is the standout track but I like the Bonobo a lot and the other two are decent.

One of those "recommended" posts on FB about an act I've never heard of, turns out to be my song of the year so far. Stunning stuff imo

The Cinematic Orchestra - A Caged Bird/Imitations of Life (feat. Roots Manuva)

I know from last year but it will be a track of this year's album
Nightmares On Wax - Look Up (feat. Andrew Ashong & Sadie Walker)

Also didn't think this was bad either
Chaka Khan - Hello Happiness

Now for something completely different

Swindle & Ghetts - Drill Work
dark Grime, I like this but not sure a whole album (Todays album of the day on 6M) is my thing

It seems 2019 new releases are coming thick and fast finally, the first few weeks of the year are long with no new stuff

This is ok
Ian Brown - Ripples
