Very interesting but, there's always a but. Mention K T Tunstall and Ed Bloody Sheeran but say fuck all about John Martyn doing more or less the same thing 30 years earlier.

He was true original, John Martyn not Dave. He mixed all sorts of "genres" to produce a unique sound. I was never a huge fan and saw him just once in 1979. Mesmerizing would be the word I'd use to describe it. I understand he was a complete bastard in his personal life mind.

I went mad in the 70's buying all the LP's I could afford.Most of them were real duffers.
Solid Air was not,I have it on cd now.
