He is so good.

Yawn....
Odd thing, ain't it... you meet people one at a time, they seem decent, they got brains that work, and then they get together and you hear the voice of the people. And it snarls.

David. He gets cross if you call him Dave. Unlike a certain ex PM.
I know a man who taught his dog to play the trumpet on the London Underground.

I find Floyd very boring although I can appreciate their musicianship.I've had lots of pub arguments about them.
The other one wrote all the songs though, didn't he?

There's been some good stuff on Sky Arts recently. They showed the early 2000s memorial concert for George Harrison where his music was performed by a fantastic line up, Jeff Lyne, Tom Petty etc. Towards the end Paul and Ringo came on but didn't try to be the 'headline' act, they merged with the other musicians... George was the headline act. Had a bit of a snigger on one of the pieces where Ringo joined the two other drummists on the stage, 'Ha,' I quipped, 'he's the third best drummer in the band.' How I laughed.

They also do a deconstruction of famous albums and show how music is put together in the studio. Very interesting. One of those was 'Wish You Were Here', maybe this is the one Piggy watched.

Oh, and they showed a 1990s Paul Simon concert in Central Park. Fantastic. The band was made up of mainly black musicians from around the world, absolutely brilliant.

Ah yes. I remember the Graceland era where everyone had to have a copy of that on their coffee table. Right on! Then Tracy Chapman came along. Repeat. I wonder how this works in the Spotify era?

EDIT: I wish to say that I found, and still find, Graceland to be an overrated pile of poo.

Have I told my Pink Floyd bassist story?

Well, I'll tell it anyway.

I've had a brief, but very enjoyable Twitter chat with Guy Pratt, who apart from being the son of one of Randall or Hopkirk (Deceased), has played bass for Pink Floyd and David Gilmour, amongst many others including Madonna and Michael Jackson, both of whom he has some very witty anecdotes about. I've got a copy of his book by the way - Guy Pratt's, not Michael Jackson's. I've also seen Guy Pratt play with Pink Floyd at Knebworth in 1990. It was quite a rainy affair.

That and Donald Fagan's Nightfly.

Still, could be worse. In the 70s I remember going to a party where everyone sat in reverential silence through Tubular Bells.
