Ahh yes, 'Jeffree' as I first knew him.

I've got the pretty rare US import album he did a couple of years later (as well as a CD comp. including 'Love Don't...) and I think I may have posted him previously.

Still, more than a good excuse for one of the killer cuts off the album. Great intro!:

SS is one of those acts like Bon Iver, Mac Demarco and Courtney Barnett that I like all the stuff I've heard but never ventured past radio plays.

Hello Psmith, new here?

Pretty much my thoughts exactly. That one is definitely one you can whistle in the shower though.

I don't know the origin of Psmith although I've detailed the origin of the name in the Welcome thread.

'Indie' isn't usually my thing but I like the lo-fi feel of that and doesn't sound like everything else.

I agree, that doesn't sound like anything else. Although a hint of Beck from that period. Indie is my thing but I am not sure about that one. I quite like the guitar hook but that's about it. To my shame I can't say I've heard of the band though

Posted a Timebox instrumental on the song theme thread but this is their real classic, with a vocal too. Cover of a Frankie Valli tune but I can't confess to knowing the original:

This thread, the Covers thread and the Theme Song Thread are an education in music....JSL
Odd thing, ain't it... you meet people one at a time, they seem decent, they got brains that work, and then they get together and you hear the voice of the people. And it snarls.

Similar comment as before - not my thing but that didn't stop me from enjoying it.

I can hear that his voice might be a bit 'marmite' - it reminds me of someone else but the name won't come to mind.

their song "The Rat" has a line in that says "when I used to go out I knew everyone I saw, now I go out alone if I go out at all" one of my favourite feeling old lyrics

So what sort of thing do you normally listen to? We know very little about you

Anything from Artie Shaw to Warren Zevon. :)
At the moment it's Bab Kennedy's "The Sailor's Revenge".It came out a few years ago but I've only just got a copy.
This is one of the tracks.
