Those are great Gassy - slightly later than when I was mostly listening to reggae. I know the rhythm of the Garnet Silk but can't remember it.
OK, I'm on a mission now - let's start with a couple of classic JA singers:
Very young Dennis Brown:
Dennis Brown - No Man Is An Island
My favourite from the Cool Ruler:
Gregory Isaacs - Front Door

Excellent Max and all the better for not being the obvious songs from those two artists.
Have some British Reggae then.
Brum's finest and not a bloody Campbell brother in sight.
Handsworth Revolution - Steel Pulse

Exiles Ina Babylon - Merger

I remember both bands supporting punk bands back in the day. Not altogether sure just how I remember those days mind....

I really liked UB40's first 2 albums, after that it all went a bit pear shaped.

Love that - not the usual Eek A Mouse track which is this one:
Eek-a-Mouse - Wa-Do-Dem
A couple of others with a distinctive style from around the same period. These are the obvious ones:
Yellowman - Zungguzungguguzungguzeng
Barrington Levy - Under Mi Sensi

There's some familiar names there. That must be one of the best song titles ever.
