Well done that man
He played The Boxer right to the very end, which is important.

That's 5 minutes of your life you'll never get back...
Odd thing, ain't it... you meet people one at a time, they seem decent, they got brains that work, and then they get together and you hear the voice of the people. And it snarls.
Re: Well done that man
It does go on a bit .S&G reckoned it the best track on the album so it's ok by me.
Re: Well done that man
The bloody "lie la lie" outro must take up half the flippin' song. My big bro loved BOTW so I suffered a lot as a youth. On first hearing The Boxer I thought the needle had stuck in a groove, bit like Hot Love by T-Rex...

I think It's supposed to be about Bob Dylan and all the hate he got after he went electric. I read some where ,perhaps ???
Re: Well done that man
No, that was bollocks.
The "lie" thing was supposed to be about Dylan's denial of his Jewish roots, but Paul Simon said "Huh?"

It can't have been Steve Shite as the DJ then.

I haven't listened to him for years but quite often people would include Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Freebird' when choosing their choice of records to play at 3pm and he would always cut into the geetar solo that's one of the best in the business. Bastard.

Re: Well done that man
I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd at Knebworth in '76, they ended the set with a mind numbingly long rendition of Freebird. I believe they are still playing it as I type...
