I don’t much care for him but the music is spot on if you like soul and funk.

Re: Liza Tarbuck
Yes, he’s excellent for funk and soul.
I don’t listen much but I think Undi is a fan.
I’m really boring and limit my music radio to Mark Lamarr’s old ‘God’s Jukebox ‘ shows on Mixcloud.

Re: Liza Tarbuck
It was quite weird - Gil Scott-Heron followed by complete shite, albeit tongue-in-cheek.

Liza Tarbuck
Nothing to listen to on R5 (F1 - zzzz) or R4 (Clive Anderson - zzzz) so tuned into R2 and was pleasantly surprised by Liza Tarbuck's music choice. Despite liking Liza in general, the show is terrible (who cares about who you are or where you listen) but a double James Brown following Jo Stafford and...

Re: Little Gems
I'm warming to a bit of 90's rnb at the moment, not all but some These have aged very well Aaliyah - Try Again Mary J. Blige - Family Affair SWV - Right Here Great stuff Undie, bar MJB who I've never ever got. SWV in particular is a big fave. This may be my favourite tune from the period: Brownston...

Re: Little Gems
I like that MBV - not really been on my radar. I imagine a little goes a long way though. This song has been stuck in my head for days now. I know I've gone on about Lovers rock forever but I truly believe it's the single most unfairly neglected genre of music. There are a few reasons including bein...
Re: Gigs
It's a bit short notice but if Red or anyone wants a great musical night out then get along to The Cluny on Saturday Night for Dale Watson. I saw him last night in London and it's country music as it should be with humour and sensitivity and the best, tightest, small band I've heard in ages. Highly,...

Were just OK and didn't deserve to go on.
Annoying because I would have had Kyle solo and singing but I guess it's given them national exposure which was obviously the plan.

I suspect they're there just to make up the numbers based on the previous success of Diversity but, equally, they're just there for a bit of exposure. Still, you never know...

Dunno if this should be on the music thread but Kyle and his dance group KNE are in the live semis tonight so fingers crossed.

Re: Good news Piggy!
Great session beer, Guinness.
Not gassy and I don't get hopelessly pissed on it - also replaces eating.
I tend to drink it if they don't have decent ale.

New Chance The Rapper. Always good for me... GRoCERIES (ft. TisaKorean & Murda Beatz) He appears on the new Flying Lotus album along with David Lynch and Solange, althougg not together. Worth a listen I've still got their previous album on my wish list - they're part of a group including the likes ...

New Chance The Rapper. Always good for me... GRoCERIES (ft. TisaKorean & Murda Beatz) that's OK, I just don't feel it about him. Never awful but doesn't grab my attention However, what is grabbing my attention is a new band called SAUL, they have an album called 5 out at the minute and is vying for...

Re: Shame really...
I am sure in the collection of music sold in the store, there are other acts who aren't so pleasant too I agree but I think it’s a reaction to the recent public badge-wearing rather than a general banning of unsavoury characters. I have a memory that Jo Cox’s killer identified with Britain First.

Shame really...
Not really a big Morrisey/Smiths fan but it's still a shame it's come to this. I understand how he got there, but doesn't make it right. Spillers Records, the world’s oldest record shop, has banned Morrissey albums from sale. The shop in Cardiff made the decision due to Morrissey’s support for the f...
