Rhetorical Question Of The Day

In less sensitive times we'd have said it may be because it sounds as if they have a speech impediment or a bad dose of catarrh.

Timely, given the demise yesterday of Chris Barber (although it's more Kenny Ball's style)

M&S had something similar today. Love Sausage. Wrapped in bacon, so like a big pig-in-blanket.

Re: What do the French know about food anyway?
They are right of course. Mass produced for millions, food from Greggs, McDonalds/Burger King. Subway, Costa/Starbucks is bland in the extreme. Mind you, the French can't talk - Croque Monsieur, tasteless cheese and ham on tasteless bread, is even worse, and when they feminise it by putting an egg o...

The first hour - 1985 - was arguably worse. Russ Abbot, Phil Collins, Elaine Paige, Foreigner
They seem to have deserted the real POTP years, the 60s and 70s.

It entered the UK chart three weeks after that article, and climbed to No 4. It was his biggest selling single, on both sides of the Atlantic. Bob Darbarn and the Melody Maker he edited had their roots in jazz, and had their work cut out keeping up with the British pop scene. Electric folk/rock woul...

That's not all. Come January you'll also have the choice of Chocolate Brownie or Sticky Toffee Pudding Chocolate Digestives, and Lemon Drizzle or Strawberry Cheesecake Chocolate Hobnobs. They're just trying to mask the fact that they ruined the original (Milk or Plain Chocolate Homewheat) by changin...

Re: Camomile tea
It's all floor sweepings, weak and rather unwilling, unless you go to the expense and bother of leaf tea.
I'm the only tea drinker in the house, so I make do with bags. Yorkshire Gold and Sainsbury's TTD Breakfast are better than most, strongish without being sludge.

Re: Camomile tea
Herbal and fruit teas have been around for a long time. I may be exercising prejudice or clché but I've always thought and found drinkers of them to be slightly eccentric, or old. They also smell wonderful (and most of them sweet) when infusing, but taste disappointingly weak. Mind you, "proper" tea...

Re: Classical.
A lot of the high and low frequencies, and dynamic range, are lost on record, particularly CD (and as for downloads/streaming  ). The pop and rock industry get round it by remastering original recordings to give them oomph. If they do that with acoustic folk and classical it sounds ridiculous,...
