Re: Cheers!
A wee Bailey's you say? Don't mind if I do! Blimey, Christmas starts earlier and earlier. Maybe I should chip off the yellow crust that's built up around the stopper of the bottle of Warninks Advocaat we bought in 1978 and see if it's still as foul as I remember. Spoiler:- Even worse, it goes off. ...

Re: A drop o' the hard stuff
Brilliant! Absolutely true. Some people like whisky, of course. But some people also like Marmite. Actually, I'm surprised they haven't tried a Marmite flavoured blend - they've adulterated nearly everything else with it. She's the perfect critic - Scots and female. If an English bloke had said all ...

Ah yes. I remember the Graceland era where everyone had to have a copy of that on their coffee table. Right on!
Still, could be worse. In the 70s I remember going to a party where everyone sat in reverential silence through Tubular Bells.

Re: So, which live musical extravaganza are you going to watch tonight
"Bon soir. Goedenavend. That's good evening in French and Dutch, although I've got absolutely no idea which is which" Says it all about the whole UK effort, really. Considering how much money and technical expertise the BBC gives to the event, ensuring that it gets an automatic place in the final, ...

One Vera was enough for me. Can't stand that whining voice.
And why do the locations all have to be so bleak?
We'd normally be out on Eurovision night - always meet up with bunch of friends, to miss the ritual humiliation of Royaume Uni. Covid has put the kibosh on that.

Re: If you want normal radio
BBC Radio 2 appears to be intent on playing soppy stuff until at least Zoe Ball on Monday morning.
The big commercial stations are back to normal but even R2 on valium is better than those.
