Following from Ron's Brian Fahey track, here's their best known.
For those of a certain vintage it's the theme music for Alan Freeman's Pick Of The Pops radio show:

Looks interesting: All Night Long (1962) TrailerPsmith wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 4:15 amThere's a nice little film from the 60's that has jazz playing all the time in the background.

I have been to gigs in cities other than Edinburgh though - next up is the Ryan Adams in Glasgow in April. #HimToo? Ryan Adams: multiple women accuse singer of emotional abuse, report says. Seven women allege musician ‘dangled career opportunities’ while sexually pursuing female artists, New York T...

Re: Gin
We've liked a G&T for a long time now so all the new 'flavours' are bit weird to me - I generally like gin-flavoured gin. I got hammered on rum & coke as a teenager and the hangover was vile so haven't had that for decades. In fact I don't drink many soft drinks beyond tonic or apple/grape juice if ...

Re: Gin
We've enjoyed Bombay Sapphire and Tanqueray down the years.
I guess I'd almost spend more on Fevertree tonic than the gin though.
Neat Dutch gin in Amsterdam is a great drink too.

John Barry The Immediate Pleasure https://youtu.be/goqZs4Hrzlg From his Beat Girl LP. There' some nice R&R easy listening jazzy stuff on it. I like that lots too - a big fan of soundtracks and John Barry in general. It's worth remembering that the film was set in the jazz cafes of Soho so the music...

First (I think) was Suzanne Vega at the Edinburgh Playhouse, touring her first album. Either that or Jackson Browne ("Lives in the Balance") at the same venue or Nils Lofgren (touring "Flip") at the Usher Hall. Last was Neil & Liam Finn (& the rest of the family) last month at the Queens Hall, Edin...

Re: HMV
Talking of Record Shops, one of my favourite YT watches is 'What's In My Bag?'. Simply, it's a monster media store in LA and they get any passing musicians to feature what they've bought. Really, they have every artist from heavy metal to rap and a lot of really big names so do a search. It's also u...

Re: New for 2019
Was at The Mad Professor's studio yesterday and picked up a pre-release of his Aretha tribute compilation (see below) as well as his take on Brexit. Not officially released yet but he's upped it on YouTube. Nice old school vibe and catchy: Brexit - Exit by Mad Professor and The Robotiks featuring Na...

I think that Record stores need to offer a package. My brother lives in Kingston (on Thames, not Hull) and Banquet records there are excellent. They have personal appearences and gigs, in-store and at local venues, club nights and have a wide range of music and matching knowledge. It's where I met T...
Re: HMV
I bought lots of records in both HMV stores on Oxford Street but was working next door to one. I did tend to buy a lot more in specialist stores though although HMV wasn't bad on soul and dance back in the day.

Never heard of this before and suspect it's right up Max's street. I get some strange posts appear on my FB page and I try to follow as many up as I can, this mornign was about someone who had picked up some 7" singles in milk crates in the US and this was amongst the pile. Innervisions - I'm In de...
Re: Covers
Never been a big Devo fan, all a bit forced eccentricity for me. I prefer proper madness like Throbbing Gristle and the like. The Nilsson is damn near perfect. I've never quite got round to checking if his other output is as good as many people say it is and there are lots of connections and strange...
