Re: The Brits 2019
The winners were mentioned on the Today programme. I can proudly announce I had not heard of any of them. Reaching full curmudgeonhood.

I drink Co-op own brand gin, £17.50 per litre. Aldi's own London Gin is about £14.90.

Re: First & Last
First gig: I really can't remember, it being 50 years ago. It might have been Thin Lizzy. The venue would have been a Maidstone Art College Friday night rock bash in the early 70s where many of the bands starting out would later become famous in the years that followed. Last gig: Rolling Stones at t...
Re: HMV
Will they reinstall those wooden cabinets (like a small enclosed telephone box) where you could stand and listen to the LP you wanted to buy? To get the authentic experience they'd have to ensure the worn-out earphones were a bit greasy and the cabinet smelt of cigarettes and wee (and something else...
Re: Tom Jones
One of my claims to fame is that our previous house in a northern suburb of Cardiff was built by a Pontypridd building company who employed Tom Jones before he became famous. There was a low wall between our house and next door that separated our driveways and I had to rebuild it 'cos it was threate...

I particularly like Steely Dan's Aja, great sounds and beautifully produced. The album cover ticks all my design boxes.

Re: Legendary Rock Acts You Think Are OK ,But
Some of The Doors albums were a bit self indulgent but there's a good collection of their best here

There's a couple of bands missing from this list, The Doors (great rock band) and Steely Dan (rock and jazz fusion plus a few influences).

Re: Dylan
His fans said "Like, man, Dylan sold out to the Man, man', when he started performing with an electric guitar.
His music is a backdrop to my youth, lots of memories associated with him.
Like Neil Young he couldn't carry a note in a bucket but his voice has a charm to it that transcends such things.

Re: Johnnie Walker
I rarely listen to R2 anymore, I find the presenters just bloody annoying. But if I'm in the car on the weekend and there's nothing on R4 or Classic FM I have listened to JW, he's a great presenter and obviously loves the music he plays. Get well soon Johnnie.

I've got a pretty filthy mind and never really progressed beyond schoolboy humour but I had never noticed any similarity.
TBH, as a typographic designer I am more offended by the dreadful typography on the label shown.
